They were certainly reluctant starters. That was always obvious.
But they seem to be contributing in a substantial way at last, now that Ukraine has demonstrated its willingness to fight and shown they have a real chance of winning.
Now all we need is for Biden to stop listening to the same defeatist voices he listened to at the beginning, and who are now proposing peace talks with Russia while it is still in control of Ukrainian territory. The only path towards peace is that Russia discovers that there is no profit in war. And that means Putin loses and is seen to have lost his war in Ukraine. Russia will have to pay a huge price for the destruction of its neighbour.
