We see the opening to a World Cup in which the only thing anyone seems to want to talk about, other than the beer issue, is the different moral standards of Moslem countries and Western ones.
For myself, I don't think we westerners should get up on a pulpit about our moral values being better than theirs. Even if we think we are right, we should accept that others think differently. Moral claims are assertions. Not expressions of eternal truths. And showing up for a few weeks and spoiling their show is hardly the means to win their friendship and influence them. Aside from which, they doubtless have plenty to say about us too, but seem politely not to do so.
