By the way, I don't think either of the two US people, Raskin or Carlson, is right about the Ukraine War or the opportunity it represents (if they were quoted correctly).
For me, the Russia-Ukraine war is primarily about (i) respecting Ukraine's sovereignty, and (ii) constraining the bear.
I think the post-war opportunity is entirely not about promoting American liberal moral values. That would be a disastrous mistake in the aftermath of the war. I prefer to see countries evolve in their own way. But I do hope for a friendly and peaceful Russia in future, or the parts thereof. And certainly, the bullying aspect of the Russian character has to be removed. It will be great if that country seemed a net contributor to the world, while retaining the less aggressive features of its personality. And I am excited about the friendship and commercial relationship the UK will have with a free and independent Ukraine.
