It was a knee-jerk purchase.

LAT's Matt Pearce aptly summarized the state of play: "Twitter is the ad-dependent print newspaper bought out by private equity that now needs to service its debt, and the first order of business is to sell off the real estate, lay off staff, hike subscription costs and hope the core customer base doesn’t notice everything is worse."

Do something positive.

So far, it doesn't sound like Elon Musk has any clever ideas for twitter.

Charging a fee for the blue tick (closet subscription model)?

Why pay? It isn't a user's problem to pay Musk for a website without a good business model. He's the rich guy. Let him pay for his vanity project.

Firing the staff who reduce the mayhem? Expect mayhem and a platform sensible people increasingly avoid.

He doesn't seem to have much of an idea about social media. From the start he's made, I expect he'll soon hire a CEO who he will blame in the future for the failure of the company. But he's really the problem. He doesn't have a sensible plan. Never did.
