This is the opportunity to make a kinder, more constructive Russia and the only means to do so is via Putin's defeat by the heroic Ukrainans. So I share your relief at the retraction of the pompous letter.

But the party of Reagan? Good grief.

Good thing!

BREAKING: House progressives retract letter pressing Biden to engage in diplomacy with Russia on the war in Ukraine amid intraparty backlash
Progressive House lawmakers on Tuesday retracted a letter they had sent to President Joe Biden a day before seeking U.S. engagement with Russia to end the war in Ukraine amid intense backlash from within the Democratic Party.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said in a statement that the letter was “released by staff without vetting” and “created the unfortunate appearance” that Democrats, who have strongly supported military and economic aid to Ukraine, “are somehow aligned with Republicans who seek to pull the plug in American support” for the country.
