Maybe yes domestically. Although Clinton had two advantages. The internet bubble gave him the growth that made things look better on his watch, but it burst at the end; whereas Obama had to make a recovery happen after a crash, and did it very well. And although Gingrich appeared at the end of the Clinton era, he wasn't all that cunning, whereas Obama had the wretched, obstructive McConnell to work with for six years (an impossible task).

I wasn't sure that either of them was especially strong on foreign policy. Clinton was lucky because he lived through the period of Russian weakness. Obama was a bluffer who got caught, so was exposed.

For me the differences are mostly about the background environment and not they themselves.

Obama is a terrific campaigner, one of the best!

Yesterday I was reflecting on his 8 years in office without any criminal lawsuits or drama.

He was a good president, not great.

He didn't spend enough time with other politicians, that's why Joe was so important as his veep.
Joe was connected to those in congress & could go and talk with them.

I think Bill Clinton was a great president.

He knew how to talk to people, he could feel their pain, and politicians, even after they impeached him.

He needed his ego stroked by women, that was his fault.
Yet times were good for Americans when he was in office.
