Story that he will be sacked is beginning to appear in news reports.

Must be the shortest term as Chancellor in hundreds of years. Poor guy. Aside from whether you believe in his ideas, which I don't, he just didn't have the mandate to switch government policy in that way. If he wanted to change the country's finances so fundamentally, he needed an election behind it.

In my opinion, Truss should have done fuel subsidies plus tax and spending continuity. If she reverts to that, maybe she'll survive.
