Russia used over 83 missiles and 17 Shahed drones against Kyiv, Lviv, Pryluky, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipro, Nizhyn, Zhytomyr, and Kharkiv.

As far as I can tell, this attack is an expression of Putin's rage and not of any value to the war. He may hope he'll persuade Ukraine not to mount attacks against Russian infrastructure in future. I'd guess it will have the opposite effect. Might Zelensky be tempted to mount a cyberattack against Russian power stations? Or bombs on Russian tube trains? Or more attacks on the Kerch Bridge?

I expect the missiles are part of the strategic resources Putin had previously reserved for a war with NATO, having nearly run out of the ammo he has in Ukraine.

To me, he's looking pretty desperate.

Will we see bombs in Moscow and St Petersburg next? In the subway, for instance.

This sort of tit-for-tat civilian attack gets nasty very quickly.
