That's another thing that would help.

But the problem isn't that there aren't solutions. It's that nothing ever happens, when any old fool can see there are problems. And so the US continues along the same road towards the cliff.

I imagine this is a bit how it felt over the whole slavery question. But neither the government nor the courts could solve the obvious problem. The south did try to secede of course, but that wasn't going to work for the slaves. So it ended up in a civil war.

I prefer peaceful change. But that means hoping the same government and courts will act. And the US system is set up to make change hard. So you are all a bit stuffed, really, because no one is going to give any ground.

It would also help a bit if Trump was put in a funny farm.

If we just ended gerrymandering, this in itself would have a major impact.
