She may be the better option. Not sure, though. She seems a bit like what you would remember as a Reagan Republican, the GOP before it went mad.

You can argue for such ideas. I just tend to think they are sometimes a bit too heartless and create gross inequalities, and they rely too heavily on market virtue, when sometimes government (or a mixed solution) is probably the better option. Useful when things lean too much towards government and harmful when there's too much reliance on capitalism as a cure-all (lest we forget 2008-9).

If her ideas head in the wrong direction, we can chuck her out, of course. UK conservatives are democratic. We don't have a Trump party equivalent. I also hope she appoints an anti-woke Home Secretary. So sick of that. No worries about abortion rights, guns, or the value of science, either. The zone of potential awfulness is smaller than it might be in the US.
