One thing I suspect it could be. He took with him evidence against him which he shielded from view while president.

That would explain a whole lot.

This returns us to the major question. What sort of classified documents are they?

If they are nuclear-related or “special access program materials” (whatever the are), Trump belongs in the slammer. If they are brown-nose letters from wannabe candidates, then this is a trivial issue.

The FBI's actions and Trump's response suggests there was some bad stuff in there. But we'll see if he gets charged and hopefully discover what was at issue.
