The sad thing isn't that Trump exists. Such people are born from time to time.
It's that so many Americans embrace him and apparently cannot see the monster that he so obviously is.
My guess is they get inoculated via the media they choose to consume. Perhaps they love the fact that he doesn't give a damn for liberal norms. To that extent, fair enough. But he mounted a coup on an invented pretext. End of story. If people support that, they don't deserve the democracy of which they are a part and the freedoms they have.
