The Ukraine events demonstrate it isn't possible to rely on autocracies for our energy supplies.

Taiwan shows we can't depend upon China as a monopoly manufacturer in the world's supply chain.

The idea of building them into the world economy to make them friendly, law-abiding and peaceful has failed.

It's time to subject them to greater competition. If they behave badly, they will lose business to suppliers that are more reliable.
