Also, wouldn't it be smart for the US to be supportive over Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom.

We bent over backwards to help Southern Ireland with its relationship with the EU, but said we would have to withdraw from the agreement if doing so damaged the north.

It is damaging the north. Why? Because the EU is deliberately making things difficult, insisting on red tape, causing traffic james etc. Now the US says we can't withdraw or even make minor changes to the agreement to make the traffic flow in our own country. It's fairly clear that the US and EU hope to peel Northern Ireland away from the UK. Biden for romantic reasons. The EU to expand its empire and punish the UK for leaving it. Some friends.

All of this, while we have taken as much risk as anyone (except Ukraine) to protect Europe from Russia.

There, in a nutshell, is why someone like Haley or Pence would suit us better than Biden.

Russia is doing its usual routine. Doing nasty things and lying about it.

They are disrupting the supply of gas to Germany now to make them desperate in the winter.

Merkel's policy of dependence has been utterly exposed. Germany is going to have to rethink it's policy of appeasing Putin. It needs to join the effort to push him back into Russia in more than a half-hearted way. That's the only thing that will work.

The hope. I don't know if Russia's army in Ukraine will last long enough to reach the winter. I presume they have ring-fenced reserves to fight NATO if necessary. But, apart from artillery, this Ukraine army seems like it is running on empty.

Meanwhile, let Europe buy lots more renewable energy.

ps Lucky for the UK, due to years of Putin scepticism, we are not dependent on Russian energy. But we are affected by high fuel prices. Same goes for the US, I suppose.
