Clear and present danger.
Just saying danger works without the clear and present, as in Trump is a danger to democracy. It adds nothing to say clear and present, except that there's a scratch on the record. Oh, he represents danger. Let's add clear and present to make it sound better. Nope. Danger works just fine. It's obvious he represents a danger and obvious it's current.
This because I've heard two people today say the exact same thing about Trump.
Not quite as bad as co-conspirators and pre-existing condition though, where conspirators and existing condition make perfect sense.
