Black folks tend to be more conservative wrt gay folks.

Many Republicans don't like either, along with Hispanics, etc...

Pete would certainly hit a wall with conservative blacks.

Our country was built with the the help of slaves.

While we have come along way, often blacks are still on the short end of the stick. And are abused & killed by police.

Do something positive.

I wasn't really thinking about who would be electable. Obviously an important thing. But I have lost any sense I once thought I had about who might win.

As I've said occasionally, I think it's a mistake to pursue a sort of politics based on race, not least because it encourages Republicans to do the same. The elephant in the room. Apparently many black folks don't have much sympathy for gay people.

This is a problem for Dems in my view. Not all minorities think alike. Not only that. The party is so concerned about minority interests that they lose track of what the majority wants.

My point about Buttigieg.

All I think is that he now has enough experience to make a good president. In a system which doesn't always offer up smart candidates, he at least is one. All the same, he may not be electable. Because he's gay, of course.
