Personally, I think the big score today is what the cordial glass is resting on, a Bose Wave Music System III. The folks running the sale said they're moving in August and will be putting out more items every week. "If you see something you like, just make an offer and we'll probably take you up on it," the guy said. I asked what he wanted for the Bose radio. He said, "What do you think it's worth?" I told him I was thinking twenty bucks. He said, "You know, they're expensive. But, okay. Sure." I asked if he could plug it in for me. He had to do it from inside since there was no outside outlet, but he opened the window so I could hear it play. Wow. The sound is amazing.

At home, I found that it's a Bose Model III. The IV is now available, but Amazon still sells the III. You can see its price in the image to the right.

BTW, we bought this around 1 p.m. So the system sat outside for five hours and didn't sell. Incredible. Even though I hate making offers on things that aren't priced, sometimes it's worth taking the risk of looking foolish.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

My wife was jazzed with her big score, a cordial glass. You might remember that we found a plate made of uranium glass in 2021. At $2, it was a better deal than today's $3.50 find... but they were both bargains.

The photo to the left shows the glass as it looks in ordinary light. Just a hint of green. But it fluoresces brightly under a black light, as shown in the photo to the right.
