These are miniature tragedies of America's major hypothesis that you can create a culture in which it doesn't matter where a family originally came from. You are all Americans. The pot melts.
One side of the divisiveness is the concern about the loss of a white majority and the culture that went with it (the extreme end of which is the idea of White Supremacy). The other side is the perpetual claims of victimhood by some minorities (the extreme end of which is the demand for ancestral reparations).
I think they are on the same spectrum. Connected. The one catalyses the other.
I wonder if there will be a happy America unless the claims and counterclaims, whatever the truth of them, together with the denunciations, whatever their value, are set aside.
