Also, I don't really count injury to a firefighter as his fault. Those folks are trained to avoid risk. And they do a good job at it. 911 was about the only time loads of them were killed. Generally-speaking, jobs like farming and fishing are far more dangerous. So he may have lit a fire but, if he had any clue about the stats, he cannot have intended to injure the responder.

ps last I looked (about 5 years ago) about 30 firefighters out of 1m died on the job. That number included heart attacks. It does give them lots of injuries from physical exertion and heavy lifting, though.

I agree.

People kill people & don't serve that amount of time.

5-10 years seems more appropriate, community service too.
