The Catholic church gets tax breaks, they should lose them.

They often have the best real estate, that adds insult to injury. (this is an aside)

Also, what about the politicians that support the death penalty...
I mean if he wants to draw a line, in support of 'life' show some consistency!

This is why I have NO use for 'religion.'

Treat others as you would like to be treated, be the best you can be & live & let live. Amen!

Just a minor observation.

There are too many Catholics at the pinnacle of US politics.

It ought not to matter that Pelosi is Catholic. But it does. Just as it matters that Biden is and several members of SCOTUS are.

What does it matter if you have so-called separation of church and state if policies are influenced by clergymen?

Yes. Yes. I know they are on different sides. But the arguments within the Catholic church should be applied to no one but members of that church.

The trouble is, the Catholic church has form. It always interferes in politics.

So I agree. But the problem with Catholicism has always been there. That's why Henry VIII dissolved their monasteries in Britain. He'd had enough.
