Israel just showed the world, again, what a dehumanizing occupation looks like

Before the funeral procession for beloved Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who witnesses say was shot dead by Israel's military Wednesday, Israeli police reportedly told her family that they didn't want her funeral procession to include displays of the Palestinian flag or any pro-Palestinian chants.
"Let that sink in," Ayman Mohyeldin writes, "A nuclear- armed power, with one of the world's most powerful militaries feared a flag-draped coffin." Mohyeldin says attacks on journalists are not new in Israel and that authorities attack on Friday's funeral procession illustrates "what a dehumanizing occupation looks like."
