I'm quite excited by this as the Finns in particular have a monster of an army, in spite of being a small country.

I hope Canada also joins in. They are usually very good with this sort of stuff.

The aim, of course, is not to have a war, but to avoid one. At the same time, to say enough of the threats from Putin. Just stop.

He's proving very nimble. Reminiscent of our guarantee to Poland during WW2, which is what got the fight back against Nazism going.

The US will follow. In fact, it's made it's position clear already. It will make sure the Finns and Swedes are protected.

And the Baltic States and probably Poland will provide guarantees too.

But France and Germany will take an age, as usual.
