Oh please, our political press doesn't give her any time.

Maybe, maybe she could try out for a school board...

"Valerie Biden Owens has revealed Meghan Markle would "of course" be a good candidate for US President in the future. The Duchess of Sussex, who stepped away from royal duties in March 2020, became more politically active when she began lobbying Republican politicians to include paid parental leave and a climate policy by the US Government. Speaking to ITV's Good Morning Britain, Valerie said: "It's wonderful to have women in politics."

I expect she was just trying to be nice. But good grief. How about MM tries out for mayor of Santa Barbara first to see if her simplistic views of virtue work there. Then, when she's done that, maybe try for the state of California. And then president, if things have turned out okay. At a guess, she won't pass the Santa Barbara test. Probably won't even get in.

"They were careless people, Tom and Daisy—they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made . . . ." - Great Gatsby
