I understand. I haven't followed the discussion and that provides a narrow perspective.
Florida doing the right thing (no tax preference for individual companies) for the wrong reason is certainly better than doing the wrong thing for a seemingly virtuous reason.
I'm not embroiled in the moral argument over supposedly gay books (which I haven't read and don't plan to), so that makes me blinkered from that point-of-view.
A point I think is sometimes applicable but don't know if it is useful here. People can have different, but sincerely-held, views about morality. I don't really know how you decide contested moral issues in many cases, when it depends what your premise is. But if it's "my interpretation is that Bronze Age book says so" I usually find that unpersuasive myself.
