Or put another way, from what one sees of Russian media, it is clear they have a genocidal mindset. Russians are real people. Ukrainians are barbarian sub-humans whose identity needs to be erased.

This is so damn Hitlerish. Putin clearly models himself on him. Thank goodness Russians built a Swiss cheese Reich, not a German one. The fundamental character of Russians is corrupt and drunken. And so Putin's Great Russian empire is built on rotten foundations.

I look forward to the day they adopt peaceful, cooperative principles.

Or put another way, Ukraine is not Russia's toy. It's not its brother. It's not a piece of Russia pretending to have a sovereignty of its own. It's a separate country with its own identity, constitution, laws and government which happens to be next to Russia.

When Russia learns to respect that is when peace will appear in that region.

It's only through respectful cooperation that anything worthwhile will happen. But it requires a massive change in Russian culture to expurgate its imperialist attitudes. That and very strong fences.
