Thought I'd look Le Pen up on wikipedia.

"Le Pen has led a movement of "de-demonisation of the National Front" to soften its image, including limited expulsion of members accused of racism, antisemitism, or Pétainism. She expelled her father from the party in August 2015, after he made new controversial statements. While relaxing some political positions of the party by revoking its opposition to same-sex partnerships, its opposition to unconditional abortions, and its support for the death penalty, Le Pen still advocates many of the same historical policies of her party, with particular focus on strong anti-immigration and protectionist measures. A vocal opponent of the United States and NATO, she has pledged to remove France from their spheres of influence. She is a supporter of Russian president Vladimir Putin and has advocated closer cooperation with Russia both before and after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022."

Her policies look intolerable from a Putin/ NATO perspective. Otherwise, they look like the sort of positions that might be quite popular in France.

Whoever the French choose, they are pretty much always awful.

Macron is a woeful president. I haven't really followed Le Pen in detail but her father was a dreadful politician.

But just because she's described as "Far Right" doesn't necessarily mean she is. Boris gets called "Far Right" from the left, but he's definitely not. I haven't the energy to follow French politics closely.
