They have turned into something a bit like a Russian-style political party. No principles. Just money and power. It's stunning.

weco posted this on my board, it's worth sharing.

As you can see Cactus Flower 'republicans' don't offer a choice!

This is only Tuesday, but so far this week...

1. Tom Cotton called Ketanji Brown Jackson a Nazi.

2. The GOP announced plans for a CPAC gathering in Budapest to rally behind Hungary’s far-right Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

3. Ohio republicans introduced House Bill 616, their version of Florida's 'Don't Say Gay' law.

4. OK passed legislation to ban all abortions in the state.

5. 63 republicans voted against supporting NATO.

6. Marjorie Traitor Greene called lawmakers Murkowski, Collins, and Romney pedophiles.

Not to be outdone, the Tennessee GOP introduced legislation to eliminate age requirements for marriage.

The bill, HB 233, is scheduled to be heard in the House Civil Justice Committee on Wednesday and would establish common-law marriage between "one man" and "one woman," but it does not include a minimum age requirement. Opponents of the bill said it could open up the possibility of child marriages.

So, in Tennessee, an alternative form of marriage for those pastors and other individuals who have a conscientious objection to the current pathway to marriage in state law would have another path forward.

And as a bonus, they can marry a fifty-year-old and a twelve-year-old under the new law. As long as one is a man and one is a woman, um, err, pre-pubescent girl.

Ah, republicans... the so-called party of family values.
