Sad result.

I don't see Hungary remaining in NATO. Probably not the EU either, although as a landlocked country it would be hard to remove themselves, even if, like me, you see the EU as a bureaucratic monster.

I don't think we'll see a proper election, sadly.

I appreciate that Hungary is sceptical of the EU it operates within, which I understand having been locked inside the bureaucratic monster ourselves.

But from here, Orban looks like he leans towards Russia and that is not healthy.

It's also worrying because Hungary is part of NATO and we don't want Hungary providing a point of weakness in our common defence.

Not sure if Orban ultimately wants robust defensive neutrality, like Ukraine, or if he's Putin's agent and another of Putin's servile [to Russia] autocrats, Trump-fashion.

If only Hungarians were really free to choose.
