But to my taste, a person like JK Rowling, who refuses to submit to the pretense that a person just needs to say they are a woman to be defined as one, is better and braver.

We need to figure from a practical perspective how to deal with these issues. The dogmatists who demand we live in their fantasies need to do the hard work of defining the nuance, instead of cancelling people who note that the empress has no clothes.
