I am afraid that asking a whole society to remain locked up on grounds of some undefined quality of fairness for the sake of a small proportion of people whose immune systems don't work is a non-starter.

I am higher risk too, although not as high risk as the subject of the article. But I don't think it is fair to ask able-bodied young people to isolate for my sake. I am proud that so many have taken vaccines for the sake of society as a whole. That was very kind of them. Meanwhile, I don't go to cinemas or restaurants either. They have televisions and take-aways for people like me. I am happy we have such tools for a varied existence. It might be far worse.
