Obviously it has decided isolation is about geography.
But isolation from financial markets, isolation from access to Samsung and Apple mobile phones, isolation from sports, inability to buy chips or to receive packages and so on ... these things are about capital, goods and services and the geography doesn't matter one whit. If you live in a large country or a small one, isolation of this sort means you don't get to have the stuff you want if it comes from elsewhere. That is economic isolation. A miserable place to end up.
But the Russians can consume their own stuff. Drink lots of vodka, for instance. And pay for things in poor quality roubles.
