Yes. The one who invited him in hasn't created a strong story. Inviting someone in for coffee is a known euphemism. No wonder he thought she was in the yes column.
The lawyers are going to make people need to sign contracts with consent clauses before going to bed together. Or even just rolling around in the hay. They can make any situation sound repulsive. It's utterly absurd.
There are bad apples and I can't be sure whether this guy is one of them. You want protections against such people. But the lawyers and their clients seem more interested in finding deep pockets than bad apples. It's legalised extortion in many cases.
