The more you look at it, the more you realise it doesn't match what happened on 6th January.
What did happen?
Trump wanted to whip up a crowd to scare Congress and Pence into doing his bidding.
But there was no consensus plan that the crowd would actually overwhelm the police and get inside. Because once they were inside, there was no strategy. It was just, we got in, now what? And meanwhile, Trump's own team was actually panicking about what was happening. Even Don Jr tried to get Trump to stop the craziness. If anyone had known about an agreed plan for a violent overthrow, Jr would have.
Trump's actual coup plan was to use a raucous crowd to scare compliance from Pence, because he thought of him as weak and scareable.
But the actual invasion was a disastrous mistake, probably instigated by some of the people involved in it. And of course in the opportunist mind of Trump, he thought, this might be good for me, and he waited and hoped that, now in fear for his life, the veep would fold and let him remain president.
The instigators may even have proposed it to their contacts in the party. But there isn't going to be an approval of an agreed plan which follows the coup powerpoint, because that isn't how Trump's team behaved once the mob got into the Capitol.
