They are in the throes of delta right now, being late to that party. But omicron is landing there too, which is even more contagious but may not be as dangerous.
It may look like omicron is killing lots of people there, but actually, it is more likely to be delta.
The UK may be a better guide to omicron, because we've been flushing delta through since the summer. So we're going to see lots and lots of cases, but they are much more likely to be omicron than delta.
The US is in much the same position as the UK.
