We'll see.
But the more they are revered, the more like stone the paper they are written on becomes.
And there's nothing like a stone tablet for fixing the law to a gradual condition of irrelevance. Or worse, that serves as an obstruction to the changes a society needs to operate.
Societies evolve. The way the law works must do also.
I have thought for a long time that the US constitution is not fit for purpose for this reason. And yet now it is the only thing that shields the country from the end of its democracy.
Not sure how this ends well. Although it contains some important ideas, I'd definitely scrap the Bill of Rights. It's just a political football in the hands of this SCOTUS. And politics should be subject to the choices the people make, not the courts.
