COVID remote learning last year. Teachers in Maryland were required by the state to be online with the students 4 hours a day. The teachers union protested saying 3 hours was the max.

And don’t forget them always bitching about “having” to buy pencils and other supply’s, as if it the taxpayers fault they piss away tax money on CRT crap and Bobby Has Two Moms garbage.

Loudoun County,VA in the 90s we’re building five new schools a year for a while. It was costing $40 million for a high school. Two county’s away in Warren county they built high schools for $25 million. We did some research and came up with ways to reduce building costs and gave a paper to them showing Loudoun how to build less expensive schools. They completely ignored our report and actually laughed at us in one school board meeting.
They didn’t care about taxpayers money.

School bonds were seven or eleven year bonds. When they built a new school they would use the borrowed money to not only build the school, but also outfit the school. They would buy computers, football/ baseball equipment, band uniforms on 7 & 11 year borrowed money. Back then they were buying Apple computers.

Teachers are evil. ”When my son was in high school, one of his friends who had graduated and was in college studying to be a teacher bemoaned on F*c*book how underpaid teachers are. I replied that they are union and actually very well paid, earning more out of college on average than engineers. He came back with something about how teachers always work extra hours without pay when they are home each day. I said, "So? Engineers do that - as do almost all white collar workers." At that point, his former music teacher WHO WAS ALSO MY SON'S CURRENT TEACHER entered the conversation and pretty much called me an idiot, saying that her pay was nothing close to what engineers make.

Now, that wasn't something I had said. I'd said that a teacher's STARTING pay is higher than the starting pay of an engineer. If I'd replied, I would have pointed out the fact along with the fact that teachers work something like 65% as many days each year as engineers. But this was my son's own teacher and I had to clam up. I bowed out of the discussion without saying another word, knowing that ticking off the teacher could harm my son.

My son later told me that he'd been embarrassed by my getting in "an argument with a kid" and had apologized the next day to the teacher. %@#$! That whole episode pi$$es me off to this day - because I was right but ended up looking as if I wasn't.
