I am not sure whether it means anything. I'm more results-oriented with China after they recently built all of those coal-fired power stations. May simply be a means for the world's two biggest CO2 emitters to sound like good citizens but to continue to do less than they need to.

The United States and China on Wednesday released a joint declaration vowing to work together on climate change, an unexpected move after President Joe Biden publicly criticized Chinese President Xi Jinping for his absence at this month's U.N. climate conference. The agreement says China, which emits more greenhouse gasses than any other country, will commit to reducing its methane emissions, among other goals.
