The BMW of that age if it is in really nice condition is likely worth a lot of money to Motorcycle collectors..
Its British and Old and has a Sidecar.. Three really good things in its favor.. A great family heirloom.
*ahem* BMW is Bayerische Motoren Werke - a German-based company (though admittedly, they do produce vehicles in a number of countries).
And yes, while she would have a high value (upwards of $30K by some calculators) if she were in excellent condition, I think she's more in 'fair' condition. When she comes to my possession, she'll need a fresh coat of paint, for sure. Dad has been taking care of the engine, keeping her tuned, replacing things as needed, and even recently respoked the wheels and re-did the interior of the car (the seat and floor were shot). The more important value is to me - I have wanted it since I was old enough to climb onto her myself.
Mrs. De could ride in the side car with the rifle and you could drive while she shoots your au natural meals on the wooded acreage. If you were the shooter you would starve to death.
Two problems with this statement.
1. Who said I would let De drive her?
2. To be fair, De is the one who has brought home a deer, whereas I have been on many deer hunts and come home empty-handed. When it comes to small game, though, I think I'm in the lead.
