I knew that what they were doing could save lives somewhere down the road. 

It certainly did bro! I can attest to that personally..

It was a an awful visit and I defintiely would not want to live there. Although I can think of quite a few fine quality folks I would not object to them going there to live out in the remote jungled areas..

...I had read enough about the corps to know I was going to get yelled at a lot. One of my uncles was a jarhead in WWII and I had talked to him about it and so I knew pretty much what to expect. The DI's screaming and cursing at us showed a creativity with the foul side of the English language that it was more humorous than anything else. I knew that what they were doing could save lives somewhere down the road.
