I think he actually got the virus at some point, didn't he?
Having the disease and being vaccinated are about equal in terms of immunising a person, I believe. If so, he's no more contagious than I am.
So that might be behind his stance, rather than callousness.
But I don't know.
It's definitely not helpful, generally-speaking, because for the population as a whole, vaccination is useful.
If a person can prove an elevated antiviral load because either they've had it, or they've been vaccinated, seems to me that would be a reasonable alternative to vaccination for travel purposes.
