Jersey is in the UK.

The French want access to Jersey's waters with their massive fishing fleet. Jersey, which wants some of its own fish for itself, says no. We're only letting in a few. France threatens to cut off their power unless it gets its way. Of course, they supply power under contract with Jersey.

The French just can't get over Brexit. It's rotten luck that the deal removes their access to British waters. But that's the way it goes. They need to consume the fish available in French waters and buy fish from other countries if they don't have enough of their own.

Naturally, we want our fish stocks to recover after EU overfishing. And the French in particular need to stay in their space.
