Think of it, Texas will have about 80,000 deaths from Covid by the end of the year, yet the governor goes out of his way to ban masks, etc.

Trump won Texas, yet because Trump requested an audit, within hours Abbott calls for an audit.

Millions of Texans lost power last year because of their problems with the electrical grid, they have not fixed that problem, yet they waste money on an audit...

A man running to unseat Abbott is in the hospital battling Covid, he tweets that he's opposed to the vaccine, yet happy to take the expensive drugs & the drugs that kill worms in horses... and insurance companies are going to pay for this, so all of us will also pay with higher rates!

I mean this is tragic & terrifying.

Do something positive.

Who holds the power?

I dunno.

It's another of these weird extra layers the US has.

Constitution vs law.

Federal vs state.

I tend to agree with the governor that jabs shouldn't be mandatory. They aren't here. But nearly everyone gets one, not just because of self-interest but also as a duty to others. In the US not so much.

It's hard to know what to do when the citizens think it's their self-interest to risk their own deaths and to self-medicate using dewormers and old anti-malarial drugs. It's hard not to weep with laughter at these absolute nutters. Did God make the USA for the rest of the world to giggle about? It's beyond farce. It must feel humiliating, as well as frustrating, to live among such people. It's not normal anywhere else. Something in the water?
