I dunno.

It's another of these weird extra layers the US has.

Constitution vs law.

Federal vs state.

I tend to agree with the governor that jabs shouldn't be mandatory. They aren't here. But nearly everyone gets one, not just because of self-interest but also as a duty to others. In the US not so much.

It's hard to know what to do when the citizens think it's their self-interest to risk their own deaths and to self-medicate using dewormers and old anti-malarial drugs. It's hard not to weep with laughter at these absolute nutters. Did God make the USA for the rest of the world to giggle about? It's beyond farce. It must feel humiliating, as well as frustrating, to live among such people. It's not normal anywhere else. Something in the water?

Texas Gov. Abbott issues order banning Covid vaccination mandates in rebuke of Biden

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued an executive order Monday prohibiting any entity,

including private businesses, 
from imposing Covid-19 vaccination requirements on employees or customers.

"The COVID-19 vaccine is safe, effective, and our best defense against the virus, but should remain voluntary and never forced," Abbott said in a statement.

Abbott, a Republican, said in his order that it was prompted by the Biden administration's vaccination mandate, which he said was federal overreach.
