Beaton explained on Friday that an NFL investigation into "workplace misconduct at the Washington Football Team" had unearthed "more than 650,000 emails" that -- in the words of the league -- "raised issues beyond the scope of that investigation." One issue: Gruden's messages to the Washington team's then-president.

Do something positive.

Good riddance.

The New York Times

BREAKING NEWS

The N.F.L. coach Jon Gruden made homophobic and misogynistic comments in addition to racist remarks, in emails reviewed by The Times.
Monday, October 11, 2021 8:34 PM EST

Gruden denounced the emergence of women as referees, the drafting of a gay player and the tolerance of players protesting during the playing of the national anthem.

His messages were sent to Bruce Allen, the former president of the Washington Football Team, and others, while he was working for ESPN as a color analyst during “Monday Night Football,” the sports network’s weekly prime-time telecast of N.F.L. games.
