The UK has an occasional overflow and underflow of wind power. Norway has more hydropower than it usually needs.

The UK can supply cheap wind power to Norway when there's an overflow in the UK and can take hydropower from Norway when there isn't any wind.

The power will move between the two countries using a 450 mile long undersea cable.

The result. The UK can retire some of the carbon-emitting power sources it currently uses when there's a lull in the wind.

Great deal. Hope other countries do similar things to change the way they produce electricity.
