Pass the damn bipartisan bill now!
I’m all for some of the items in the reconciliation bill, like Medicare benefits for dental, vision, prescription drugs, etc. coverage, free community college, redoing the tax code for corporations because some pay nothing in taxes, climate stuff, and all that, but that bill should be subject to debate and negotiation. It is a wish list merge of Biden’s campaign items and the socialists’ crowd wishes. America is not a socialist country and should never be. Manchin’s statement on that, the radical redoing of America’s economy and structure is a valid one. OTOH, he is being disingenuous about other stuff as he is a coal man, he owns millions in his own company’s coal stock, and Sinema doesn’t want big Pharma pay higher taxes and suffer prescription drug negotiation.
Most of these things are heavily favored by Americans, and these two are obstructing their being negotiated, discussed, and acted upon in a reasonable way, not a socialist way, not a corporate lobby way.
Finally, the socialists, at least, are willing to discuss all that, those two are playing a game, especially Sinema who is USELESS, a Republican Trojan horse acting stupid and inconsiderate to those who put her in office. Can the bitch next time.
