I signed in online to the Safeway/Albertson's site, downloaded the universal consent form pdf file, filled it out in Preview, had to dig up our Medicare cards, for the code #s, but then I was in & out of the pharmacy in 10-15 minutes, partly because I stopped to BS with a fellow getting his flu shot, as well s the pharmacist, who gave me the injection... 4:45 appointment, I was back home before 5 PM.. only a little arm soreness, but sure did sleep well, so it likely did wipe me out a bit.

I had to be up at 7 AM to run up take the grandkid to HS this morning. We're now in a routine, sharing the taking, pickup of him, his girlfriend, now that my daughter is far from ability to drive. Hectic times...

My wife and I got our COVID booster shots yesterday afternoon, exactly seven months, to the day, after we got our second original vaccinations. I had contacted our doctor's office on Monday and asked about when and where they were going to offer the boosters, and they called back Tuesday morning and said that they had openings at 2:00pm at the same medical center where we got our original shots in February. Now I have to admit, it wasn't quite as organized as it was back in February. To start with, it seems that everyone had the same 2:00pm appointment. The parking lot was full and we had to wait for a parking spot to open up before we could even park. The guy meeting us was a security guard handing out forms that we had to fill out and he just told us to get in line and wait, but the doors were all closed (it was a few minutes before 2:00). At exactly 2:00pm, they opened the doors and let us in where they went over our paperwork and told us to take a seat until it was our time. There must have been about 40 people there, most getting the booster shot, but there were a few getting their second dose of the vaccine, and of course, they had been given the wrong forms to fill out which contributed to the confusion when their turn came to get the shot. Now there were two people checking us in and only three administering the shots, but they were friendly and professional and we were out of there in about 45 minutes, plus or minus. So far, no reactions except some injection site soreness that didn't develop until just before we went to bed last night.
