There's a reason the UK wanted to leave. It doesn't work as an idea. Bad history to think the idea of a European empire is a stable one. That's the thing that causes the problems. It doesn't solve them.
Loose affiliation based around commerce was okay. United States of Europe, not such a good idea. We left because we saw where it was heading.
