Perhaps, but that isn't stopping people from using the idea that Florida is full of old people, already on their last leg, as an excuse for it's high incidence and death rate from COVID.
I'm on another message board where every time someone says something about Florida and their COVID rates, this one guy jumps in and claims that it's ONLY because so many old people live there. And this guy is from California, which he claims that the ONLY reason we have a much lower infection and death rate is because very few old people live in California compared to Florida (actually, there are more people over the age of 65 living in California than Florida).
