...empty beds don't make any money for the hospital. I wonder how many of those folks actually need to be in the hospital.

...folks who work in hospitals call "intensive care" the Expensive Care Ward. Follow the money!!!

Re: “don't confuse the poor moron De. He thinks he has all the answers because he reads liberal rags...”
The sad thing is I think we are in very much of a "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. As you know, I had intended to get vaccinated once a REAL (traditional) vaccine became available. Novavax says "4th quarter" for the U.S. because of an FDA requirement to apply for approval before applying for Emergency Use Authorization, and "3rd quarter" for most of the rest of the world.

I'm now reading that more than 20% of the people hospitalized in England in June were already vaccinated, so the effectiveness of existing vaccines does not last very long, maybe as little as three months. Is there any point in getting the vaccine then?

Maybe Novavax will be longer lasting than the mRNA crap. We can hope. At least it won't be reprogramming the body in a grand medical experiment the way mRNA does.

On the other hand, vaccinated people are likely to breed and spread dangerous variants of the virus. Unvaccinated people are the ones who will initially be most vulnerable to what the vaccinated people breed. (Later, the vaccinated will fall victim to these deadly variants too since there will probably be a lot of deadly variants and vaccine makers won't be able to keep up. Viruses can adapt and breed about a million times faster than human laboratories can come up with solutions.)

Like I said, damned if you do; damned if you don't.
